#KanyeWest might not be feeling all G.O.O.D. right now. The hip-hop veteran’s long-awaited #Donda album might suffer yet another setback and it’s all God Son’s fault.
New York rapper #Nas has pulled a massive surprise to the masses by announcing his #King’sDiseaseII is not only official but dropping in a matter of days. Barring any setbacks, Nasir Jones’ sequel is slated to arrive August 6 – yup – the same day Donda has been pushed to.
Knowing what we know about Kanye West and Nas – their friendship and the fact that they have collaborated on multiple songs together – is there any chance this is Nas doing Ye a solid? Possibly giving him a reason to delay DONDA a little longer rather than trying to compete for a chart-topping debut.
Let’s be honest – there’s no way Nas or Kanye West wouldn’t want to have a sure-fire No. 1 release with their albums. Details are slim about what Nas has planned for his album but if it’s anything like last year’s LP, it should have a mix of hip-hop legends and newer artists like #FivioForeign and #ASAPFerg.
The project’s set to arrive through Nas’ Mass Appeal Records and you have to imagine producer Hit-Boy will once again be attached to this massive release.
The album’s artwork isn’t as decked out and royal as King’s Disease. This time God’s Son opts for going solo, donning a huge gold Cuban Link around his neck and going with a blood orange color.
Can hip-hop heads be greedy and wish for both of these albums to drop August 6th or is it a sure bet Donda will be pushed further into late summer?
