In latest news, Ghanaian Afrobeat singer KiDi overtakes the likes of Ed Sheeran and Drake on Billboard’s Top Triller Chart debuting at number 3 with “Touch It”.
Touch It is a single off his Golden Boy album which was released this year and this particular song has been doing wonders. In fact Touch It has been trending in India, Jamaica and with over 125 million views on TikTok.
It’s good to note that KiDi isn’t the first to make it to this chart, Gyakie made it to number 4 with forever a couple of weeks ago.
Looking at the chart, KiDi is following Drake’s “Way 2 Sexy” which is currently at number 2 while being far ahead of Ed Sheeran’s “Shiver” which is at number 8.
So officially, KiDi has joined the short list of Ghanaians who have debuted on Billboard chart.
The likes of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Gyakie have all made it to Billboard charts so with the latest addition of KiDi I believe more of our singers will strive to get there.
It’s good to note, again, that Ghanaian TiKTokers 100% blow this song which goes a long way to prove that a good song without promo isn’t going to do well at all.
We are expecting the song to chart more in the coming weeks and currently, KiDi has close to 2 million monthly listeners on Spotify due to “Touch It”.
