You’ve likely heard of the Alcubierre Warp Drive, but that might not be the only way to travel faster than light. Warp drives get around the light speed barrier by circumventing it. They just sits stationary while spacetime bends about it, bringing about different problems. It’s unclear how feasible such a craft is.

There is an alternative. Dr. Takaaki Musha published a paper in 2017 describing a method of faster than light travel which takes the light speed barrier head on.

Literally.

Musha’s theory involves accelerating at such a pace that you tunnel right through the light speed barrier!
